Most of us have stopped using the CD player and are now either hooked to the MP3 player or to an iPod. If you are a housewife then chances is that you will want some distraction as you go about doing your household chores. Listening to a free audio book while dusting up or even when doing your cooking can be optimal utilization of time. There is in fact nothing quite as enjoyable as enjoying something that you do while also having an audio book playing out the contents of your favorite story which will certainly make you enjoy whatever you are doing a little bit more.
Everyone Loves Something For Free, Especially When It is A Free Audio Book
Free audio books are available and they are sure to make you enjoy doing your household chores knowing that you did not have to pay for the pleasure of hearing a story that even if it is not one of your favorites will nevertheless help you pass the time more enjoyably. If you are not keen to pay fifteen dollars and more to get your audio book then you have to check with your local library that will in more instances than not provide you with a smattering of free audio books.
Of course, your free audio books from the local library might not be available for use with an MP3 player but then that is really a very small price to pay. Chances are that you have a CD player or even a cassette player and so even if you have to borrow the free audio book in either CD format or on audio cassette there is no harm done.
Your local library might even allow you to download your free audio book from their site and they may not even object to your burning the contents to your CD after which you can enjoy the book at your leisure. Of course, in order to make use of this service you must be in possession of a library card that works with your local library’s system which will then set you up as their online user that can then download your free audio books.
This ability to take advantage of online availability of free audio book will make life a lot more convenient and enjoyable. However, if you request your local library to subscribe to services such as Overdrive and also netLibrary you will even get to download digital copies of your free audio books. Other than your local library there are other sources as well that provide free audio books including the likes of LibriVox and Free Classic AudioBooks.
